It's coming up to Christmas time, and perhaps you're already stockpiling a mountain of wonderful gifts. But when is the best time to order Pilgrims Coffee so that your loved ones can enjoy it at it's most delicious?
As with your baked delights and Christmas cheese board, freshly roasted coffee has a window in which the flavours and aromas are optimum and the tasting notes that we've detected in our cupping sessions are at their peak. Then, it will naturally lose its intensity and the flavours will become muted as time goes on.
Our focus is on quality and our mission is that when you enjoy a cup of Pilgrims Coffee, it is as good as it possibly can be. Therefore, our coffee bags come with a best before date of 6 weeks from the roast date. Indeed, after that time it won't necessarily go "off" - but there will be a notable difference in the taste.
So what does this mean for coffee intended as Christmas gifts? Last year we implemented the following system and it worked perfectly!
Step 1: Select your favourite coffee
Step 2: Check the quantity you'd like and the grind size using the drop down options before adding your order to the cart.
Step 3: When you're ready to order, head to the cart. On the first page you'll see a box with "special instructions for the seller". Simply type "Post with Christmas orders" here - and we will delay postage until the last post date.
To give ourselves plenty of time - our final roast day before Christmas will be Monday 18th December. We will then post orders between 19th & 20th December.
If you have travel plans or need to post the coffee on yourself, simply state the date you'd like us to post the coffee in the seller instructions.
